ok, now someone is NOT playing fair, as if rougue could beat Nightcrawler, especially that fast. Iceman, i could see it happening it could go either way there, (tho i think his numbers did jump just a wee bit fast there) but ROGUE????

and now it seems the numbers have stabilized for the moment. Here is how it stands right now.

please note the time on my posts, and uh, yeah, i think it should be fairly obvious who is cheating. geez, i mean how childish! 'WAAaaah!! i don't like Nightcrawler so i'm gonna cheat and get Rogue and Cyclops and Iceman to beat him!' you'd think people would have better things to do with thier lives.... of course, here is me tracking this. but it's not like i've been keeping track all day, i just happened to check and saw Rogue beating him, i mean really, as if that could ever happen, and it got me suspicious...

as with BAMFCentral before this, if this shows one thing, it's that if nothing else NC fans play by the rules! honesly, the only reason BC lost the site of the month was similar cheating.

of course this could actually work in Nightcrawlers favour in the end, if Marvel resets the vote, since if fans see this, they will be SURE to cast a vote for the elf. of course someone may try and cheat to get his number up too, but i think he has far more genuine votes so I'm confident he'd still win. all they have to do is track the IP of the votes, i'm sure they have the ability to do so, and delete ones that originate form the same IP. they did it once during the site of the month voting, (tho why they didn't do this again towards the end of the voting after such rampant cheating by the hulk library is beyond me) they can do it again.

I can't f***'ing believe that someone would cheat at this. It defies all honourable and virtuous logic.

Scott's and Marie's weren't that good in my opinion, so someone had to have been flooding the poll. They should have made it so that the site adds a "yes I have already voted" cookie so that you cant vote more than once.

think we should complain to marvel or something? we do have a running tally over time to prove it (well, kinda). i mean here we are we *honestly* voted, did not flood the polls (tho i think someone must have to get him back up to the top, but before this whole mess began, i mean...) then some idiot comes and screws up the polls. i hope marvel does not use this poll too much, or at all, even, when making thier decision about which Icons series get turned into full series.

Subject: Current poll is being abused and false readings are being given

Page I'm talking about is http://www.marvel.com/cgi-bin/ppresult.cgi (the Icons poll)

We (the fans at hostboard.com) have been monitoring the results of the poll and we believe, no we KNOW, that someone is abusing the results

The poll is set up in such a way that people can press their browser back button and vote again and again, until the point where someone has abused it.

We've kept a tally of the results at this page: http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/Forum79/HTML/000626.html

As you can see we are Nightcrawler fans and the Nightcrawler results got into the lead (and trust us none of us voted more than once so it was a fair poll) and that "rogue" and "cyclops" were at the bottom with less than 1000 each, now they have been flooded so that they beat even Nightcrawler (and we wont lie to you, the artist that worked on the iceman and nightcrawler comics is brilliant)


Suggestions on how you could fix this problem:

Start the poll again, but set it up so that once a person has voted, a cookie is left in the browser so it knows they've already voted.

Maybe It's not cheating. Maybe Marvel just supports letting people vote however many times they want knowing that the good ones will win. If that's the case I say we kick their sorry asses and vote for Nightcrawler!!
